There are two key skills that sales people must use well when they are cold calling and developing new business: Listening and Asking questions.
Too often sales people don’t generate enough leads or set enough appointments because their prospects see no value in their offering. Sales people can immediately create value by following the 70/30 rule of communication and allowing the prospect to do 70% of the talking. The better the questions the more insightful the answers. When prospects feel understood they are more likely to set an appointment with you.
